Product Description
Ethyl acrylate is an organic compound with the molecular formula C5H8O2, a colorless liquid. Slightly soluble in water, ethanol and ether. Easy to polymerize, can also be copolymerized with other monomers. Used for the preparation of plastics, resins and other polymers, also can be used as organic synthesis intermediates. It is prepared by the reaction of 3-hydroxypropionitrile with ethanol and sulfuric acid, or by the esterification of acrylic acid with ethanol.
On October 27, 2017, the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization published the list of carcinogens preliminary collation reference, ethyl acrylate in the list of class 2B carcinogens.
