Niobium is an off-white metal with a melting point of 2468°C, a boiling point of 4742°C and a density. Niobium is stable in the air at room temperature, and is not completely oxidized when it is red hot in oxygen. It can directly combine with sulfur, nitrogen, and carbon at high temperatures, and can form alloys with titanium, zirconium, hafnium, and tungsten. It does not interact with mineral acids or alkalis, nor is it soluble in aqua regia, but it is soluble in hydrofluoric* acid.

Application

1. Niobium is a very important superconducting materil to produce high-capacity capacitor.

2. 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing; MIM (Metal Injection Molding);

3. The pure Niobium metal powder or Niobium Nickel alloy is used to make Nickel, Chrome and Iron base high temperature alloy. Such alloy is applied to jet engines, gas turbine engines, rocket assembly, the turbocharger and the heat of combustion equipment;

4. By adding 0.001% to 0.1% Niobium nano powder is good enough to change the mechanical properties of steel

5. Due the coefficient of thermal expansion of Niobium is very similar to  the sintered alumina ceramic material of the arc lamp, Ni nano powder could used as sealed material of the arc tube.

This powder is produced in spherical form, which makes it highly suitable for applications like additive manufacturing (3D printing), thermal spraying, and powder metallurgy.
